The first Porsche 911 was introduced in 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, marking a significant turning point for the brand. Designed to replace the Porsche 356, it was initially named “901,” but was later renamed “911” due to a dispute with Peugeot, which had trademarked all three-digit model names with a zero in the middle. Production began in 1964, featuring a 2.0-liter flat-six engine that produced about 130 horsepower.
