The Jaguar Type D, produced from 1954 to 1957, is an iconic racing car designed for endurance racing. It stands out with its aerodynamic design, particularly its rear fin and lightweight aluminum body. Powered by a 3.4 or 3.8-liter inline-six engine, it delivers up to 285 horsepower, allowing for a top speed exceeding 270 km/h. The Type D features an innovative monocoque chassis and disc brakes, providing rigidity and performance. This car achieved great success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, securing victories in 1955, 1956, and 1957, and becoming a benchmark in automotive racing history.
